Midtown Washcloth

Hello my lovelies,

I truly hope you are doing well and staying warm. Here in Alberta, we are experiencing a cold snap and temperatures are hovering around -42 degrees Celsius with the wind chill. It is incredibly cold, the air hurts your face and touching door handles or key pads make your fingers feel like they are burning if you aren’t wearing gloves. It’s just too cold for my liking.

Earlier this week I had to fill up gas tank and my gloves are thick, so I had to take them off to press the numbers on the keypad.

It was so cold that the contact of my skin and the metal gave me a burning sensation from the contact.

Now we have actually been quite fortunate with more mild temperatures through out the winter so I can’t complain about a week of extreme cold.

Are you a winter person?

I often joke with my husband about why we live in a place where the air hurts our faces and he promptly reminds me it is because I don’t like big bugs ..… haha!

He isn’t wrong, I don’t like big bugs and would much rather deal with air that hurts your face when it’s super cold. At least the bugs don’t have a chance to get that big right?

I have spent much of this week inside crocheting, binge watching Bridgerton, getting things organized around the house and playing board games in the evening with my family. I really quite enjoy this routine and it keeps me busy.

Made by Crystal, Simply Smith Creations

The kids have had indoor recess every day at school and are feeling a little restless not being able to play outside but this will be short lived.

It’s supposed to significantly warm up by Monday and I have no doubt that teachers will be taking their classes outside to play.

We are also in mid February and that means spring is around the corner, with its above 0 temperatures.

What do you like to do on cold days?

This week’s crochet pattern is the Midtown Washcloth. It’s quick to work up and a great addition to your home spa kits or cleaning routine.

I’m a big fan of texture when it comes to my patterns and using a combination of easy stitches. This pattern has just that.

Anyways my lovelies, stay warm and make a Midtown Washcloth!
